Monday 9-10 am, Buckland Park Lake, Surrey RH3 7FE

This course is on Mondays - starts 13th April.

In the lakeside wellness studio - On the lawn on warmer days. (N.B Make sure that you are on the group what's app to be informed of class location/weather etc from April)

A comprehensive beginners yoga course designed for true beginners. Focusing on breaking down poses and making them accessible & safe for all abilities.

Through the weeks the course provides a structured approach to learning something new. You may have heard that yoga is more that just the postures, by the end of the course you will be inspired as you learn how yoga effects our whole lifestyle improving health, sleep, mind and whole self.

The beginners who take this course learn a new way to breathe (and most people are getting it wrong!) Breath is everything. It is crucial for our vitality, energy and good physical health.Breath is the bridge between of physical body and our mind/emotions.Yogic breathing exercise (pranayama) brings the breath into our awareness where we learn to guide it to regulate our nervous system.

One of the oldest texts in yoga (patanjalis Yoga sutras) reminds us that Yoga starts now.With this body, this mind, this flexibility; exactly as you are is where we begin.

  • No bendiness required

  • This particular class will always be smaller in size

The course is held at the beautiful @bucklandparklake.And soon we will take our practice outside for the summer months. To practice in nature has added health benefits and students absolutely love this aspect of practicing here amongst the birds and the trees.

On this course you will learn:

  • Meditation and relaxation techniques to weave into your every day to make you feel a healthier and happier.

  • History and background of yoga and its meaning

  • Breath and its important role in regulating the nervous system

  • Fight or flight response and the Psoas Muscle, a contributor to back pain and poor posture.

  • Chakras - See how eastern medicine and philosophy looks at the body’s 7 main energy centres for health and balance.

  • Balance & Strength - The 3 elements of balance, visual, proprioceptive and vestibular.

  • Yoga as a lifestyle

  • Spine - Expanding our mobility and flexibility in 6 directions of the spine.

Block purchases to be used in consecutive sessions within a term. (If you miss a session in your block I encourage you to make the session up by attending another one for free that week)

Price includes entry to the park, parking, you are also welcome to wonder around the lake or have coffee or brunch at the Reverie before or after the class.

It is important that this practice is inclusive. If you would like to join but a discount is needed at this time please ask freely.
